Santina is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City. They position themselves as “Coastal Italian” and I LOVE their pasta dishes.
Here are a few things that are amazing on the menu:
- Avocado Trapanese Cecina: It is a chickpea pancake with an avocado mash on the side.
- Arugula Fig Salad: Nice light bite and I love figs!
- Tortellini Sorrentina Pasta: Tortellini topped with Pesto & Marinara sauce. You cannot go wrong with this dish.
- Rigatoni Alla Norma Pasta: This pasta comes out topped with a mound of cheese. See the picture for evidence.
It is located in the Chelsea district, right underneath the Highline park so it is easy to take a walk there right after. It is also located near many stores such as All Saints, Rag & Bone, Vince, Madewell, and Kiehl’s so you can also do some shopping before or after.
Also, it is located right near Chelsea Market, which is definitely worth checking out. There are foods and shops located in Chelsea Market and they sometimes have sample sales going on.
The Whitney Museum is located around the block as well – this museum solely focuses on contemporary artists. As an Art History minor, I absolutely love this museum.
